Blaine Girls' Tennis Coaches
COACH DOUGAN (C), COACH CULLEN (JV), COACH FEDOR (V)
Coach Jeff Fedor
I started playing tennis when I was a freshman in high school and immediately fell in love with it. Through my high school and college years I worked as an instructor at the summer tennis camp held at my high school in Illinois. I went to college at Winona State University where I played tennis for four years while earning my degree. I teach in the CEMS (Center for Engineering, Mathematics, & Science) program here at Blaine and also have been on the coaching staff for the boys and girls tennis teams since I started here. I am currently the Varsity Girls' and J.V. Boys' tennis coach. I enjoy working with the players and have been fortunate enough to see many of them have a lot of success. Outside of school I continue to play USTA league tennis and also enjoy golfing. However, my favorite activity is spending time with my wife and our son and daughter.
Coach Jody Cullen
I have played nearly every sport competitively and tennis became my sport of choice. I played four years at Northwestern College and was team captain my senior year in 1997. I have been coaching various sports my whole teaching career including coaching the Blaine Boys' Tennis team since 1999. I am currently the Varsity Boys' and J.V. Girls' Tennis Coach. I thoroughly enjoy tennis and feel that I have benefited tremendously from this sport. I am married and have three sons that will be future tennis players. Outside of spending time with family and coaching I occasionally have time for a little fishing.
Coach Bruce Dougan
Coach Bruce did not begin to play tennis until the age of 30 but from then on, became hooked on the sport. He was locally ranked in the top five in both singles and doubles. He attended Tennis and Life Camps at Gustavus Adolphus College and clinics at Van Der Meer Tennis University Hilton Head SC and is a USPTA certified developmental coach. He continues to play USTA league tennis and is a team captain. Bruce has spent time as the head boys and girls tennis coach at Oak View Middle School and the C Boys' Tennis Coach at Maple Grove HS since retiring from Medtronic 2003. He is currently the C Girls' Tennis Coach at Blaine HS. He lives in Champlin (and AZ in the winter) with his wife Lisa and enjoys the company of his four granddaughters.
