Meeting times and places: We shoot on Thursday’s at 3:30 p.m. at the Minnetonka Gun Club (located just north of Nowthen)
Parents/Students are responsible for getting themselves to and from practice/competition.
Available to Anoka High School Students 9th-12th grade
Length and timing of season: Trap and Skeet has 2 seasons, Fall and Spring.
Fall Season is roughly the 2nd week of September through the 3rd week of October (exact dates to be published by the MN State High School Clay Target League and will be communicated by email to trap and skeet families).
Spring Season is roughly the last week of March through the last week of May. (exact dates to be published by the MN State High School Clay Target League and will be communicated by email to trap and skeet families).Registration: Registration will begin the first week of August and run through the first week of September. Registration will need to be done through the mail or your student will need to drop off at the activity office. Registration for this sport may not be done online. All info for registration is emailed, so please ask to be on the mailing list by contacting Abbi or Todd at the above email.
Cost (if any): Cost for Fall season is around $140.00 for trap and $140.00 for skeet. (cost is determined by the cost of shells and the cost to shoot at the gun club and will be communicated via email before the season starts.) Ammunition for the season is included in this rate. If your child would like to participate in both disciplines it would be $280.00
Cost for Spring season is around $280.00 for trap and $280.00 for skeet. (cost is determined by the cost of shells and the cost to shoot at the gun club and will be communicated via email before the season starts.) Ammunition for the season is included in this rate. If your child would like to participate in both disciplines it would be $560.00In addition to the participation fee there is a registration fee of $35.00 to the MN State High School Clay Target League and is collected separately from the above fee. This fee is paid directly to the league and is done so online with a password given by the coach after we register you online in their system.

Equipment required: Each participant must provide their own firearm, either a 12 ga or 20 ga shotgun and must have their gun safety certification completed prior to the season starting. Upon registering online with the league as mentioned above you will need to provide the firearm certification number given upon completion of the class. This is on the certificate emailed or mailed to you after completion.Description: High School trap and skeet is the number 1 fastest growing sport in high school. To date (as of Spring 2019) High School Trap and Skeet, in the state of MN, has more participants than both girls and boys hockey combined.
