Welcome to our Classroom WebsiteI begin my 26th year of teaching! This is my 23rd year with Anoka-Hennepin. I first started teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in Duluth, MN for 3 years then moved to A-H in 1996 teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students from birth-5, then transferred to Coon Rapids High School, continued teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This is my 6th year teaching American Sign Language at Anoka High School. I look forward to continuing with the new things we have started in the ASL programs across the district which include chromebooks for classroom use. Integrating technology into the classroom has been a goal of mine even though it's not my area of expertise. I'm willing to learn along with students!
I currently have 2 children, Alex who is a 2nd year student at University of Minnesota-Duluth and Maggie who is a 11th grader at Cooper High School. I enjoy gardening, scrap booking and spending time with my family. I have a husband who is also Deaf.Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success! Please encourage your child to keep voices off in my classroom. The more their voices are off, the better they will be at American Sign language. ASL is a visual langauge with it's own grammar rules. Spoken English has no place in my classroom. Thanks!

I am available on some days before and after school. Just ask to see if I'm available. I have my own children and do not live in this district. There will be days I cannot stay so make sure you check with me beforehand. Thank you.
