Anoka High School Cross Country Running


    PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PHYSICAL DONE AND ARE REGISTERED PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE. If you are not registered by the morning of Monday, August 17th you will be asked to leave practice and will not be allowed to participate until you are fully cleared. You will not be able to register in person on Monday because parents need to sign off on a COVID-19 form online.  


    What will practice look like? Different.. Until school begins, we will be meeting at 7:00 AM. YOU MUST WEAR A MASK TO PRACTICE. If you are not wearing a mask, gaitor, or some form of face shield, you will be asked to leave practice. All staff and athletes will wear mask during any announcements, simple warm-ups, etc.. once we are ready to start running we can take our masks off. Upon arrival, DO NOT go directly to your peer groups and hangout on the course - approach one one the three coaches and they will tell you where to go. Anyone not following coaching instructions/not social distancing will be asked to leave. Above anything else, safety is our main goal.


    Once we are closer to the start of the school year we will announce practice start times, etc.. These are currently TBD.

    Equipment required:  Sweats and running shoes 

    Description: In Cross Country you will run on a variety of surfaces, mostly trails. The workouts are adjusted based on ability. Everyone participates at every meet. This is a lifelong sport that you can enjoy.
