Welcome to my classroom website! My name is Chris Hay and this is my third year teaching at Anoka High School. This is my 14th year of teaching and 10th year with Anoka-Hennepin. This school year I will be teaching Business Internship, Computer Skills for STEAM, Accounting, and Computer Programming classes. I will also serve as the BPA Advisor and Business Internship Coordinator at AHS.
BPA is a co-curricular student organization for students who are interested in pursuing careers in Business, Finance, Accounting as well as Health and Human Services related fields. Anoka BPA strives to promote participation in community service and BPA event competition at the region, state, and national level in many different career areas of interest. BPA student interns are part of BPA and also are employed outside of school in the community as the pursue their interest in Business and other career fields. Students receive one half credit per trimester for their internship work experience.
After completing high school in Columbia Heights, MN I attended Bemidji State University and earned a B.S. in Accounting. After several years working in the accounting industry I attended the University of Minnesota and earned a Masters in Education. Currently, I am enrolled as a student at Minnesota State Moorhead enrolled in classes in pursuit of an MBA degree. I am married and my wife Marjie and I have two sons, Gus and Oliver. Together, my family enjoys spending our time fishing, mountain biking, playing hockey and camping.
