    Competition One Act Play

    Meeting times and places:  After school in the auditorium

    Length and timing of season:  January through February

    Cost (if any):  $50

    Description:  The Competition One-Act Play is given in conjunction with the Minnesota State High School League's competitive activities.  The play is a one-act or a cutting of a longer play.  Student involvement is limited because of League rules.  The official cast and crew may be no larger than 20,  However auxiliary production crews may be large and all students are encouraged to audition and participate.

    Fall Play

    Meeting times and places:  After school in auditorium - some evenings

    Length and timing of season:  September through early November

    Cost (if any):  $100

    Equipment required:  None

    Description:  The Fall Play gives students a chance to be involved in a theatrical production.  The Fall Play involves actors and technical students in numerous areas.  Students get more time to explore the area of acting because usually the parts are larger and the scripts challenging.  The plays will be either serious or humorous depending upon the available talent and the interests of the students.  The Fall Play is an area where student involvement and participation can easily be showcased.

    Spring Musical

    Meeting times and places:   Monday through Thursday, after school/evenings in the auditorium

    Length and timing of season:  Mid-March through Mid-May

    Cost (if any):  $100

    Equipment required:  None

    Description:  The Spring Musical at Anoka High School has many purposes.  The two most important are:  creating an opportunity for a large scale student performance and to produce a musical production blending the fine arts of music, dance, theater and art.  Approximately 200 students are involved in all aspects of the production.  There are no prerequisite skills required except interest and dedication.  In addition to the cast there are many other crews that work on the musical.  Some of these areas or involvement are: scenery and properties, pit orchestra, costumes, lighting and sound, publicity, and make-up.  All students are encouraged to participate.
