Anoka High School partners with community leaders for STEAM Professional Review Night
(02/24/2023) Anoka High School - Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (AHS) hosted its annual STEAM Professional Review Night Feb. 16 with the goal of providing seniors in the Honors Design and Development class with input and advice on their final capstone project prototypes.
In its second year in-person, the event featured more than 40 projects ranging from climbing holds and healthy eating apps to addressing fear of dentists and recycling 3D printer filament.
The students were greeted with a 1-to-1 ratio of reviewers, as more than 50 professionals from the community and school community volunteered. After a short orientation, the Professional Reviewers met with individual students to learn about their project concepts, examine their prototype progress, and provide constructive feedback. The invaluable input will guide students as they move forward with their project. View photos of the Feb. 16 event.
The STEAM Expo, where the students’ final projects will be on display, is set for May 18. The event at the high school is free and open to the public. Read more about the STEAM experience.
